Jade Gemstone Necklaces

Jade gemstone necklaces are, as is all jade, an important part of the life and culture of China and the far east. Jade and its perceived virtues play an important role in the spiritual life of the citizens. The gem is an integral part of life from birth to death.

An interesting story attaches itself to a type of necklace associated with children in China. An ornament, used as an amulet, is given to the child as a necklace. The parents believe that as long as the child wears the amulet he will be protected from danger and disease – bound to life.

At death, the Chinese bury amulets with the dead. These “tomb jades” are placed in the mouth of the dead to offer protection for final rest.
